Short Stories |
|
Short stories have always held a fascination for Robert J although he readily admits that his descriptive prose style does not readily lend itself to the genre. Despite this he has written several published (p) “shorts” along with a number of never submitted ones (n).
To date these are:
(n) Just too Late—Fantasy– 500 word ultra short story (n) The Blessing—Fantasy—not all blessings are good! (n) The Hunt of the Begroth—Fantasy—Dragons rule the world and hunt men like vermin. (p) Jasper Quince—Horror– an homage to Hammer Films. (n) Dreams—a eulogy on the futility of war. (s) The Pendant– Shock Horror– written for a competition to push back the boundaries. (p) Jack Spratt-Horror– Based on the children’s nursery rhyme. (p) Journey’s End– Horror– the end of the road for a lonely vampire hunter.
(n) Looking after the Pennies-Sci Fi-Written for Omne magazine in the 70’s. (n) Out of Time– Sci Fi– The adventures of a manipulator of history.
(n) Keep to the Left-Humorous-a pun riddled spoof on detective novels.
